I See a Bright Future for Our Placentia
To all of my fellow Placentia Friends, I am asking for your vote, as a candidate for
Placentia
City Council District 5.
I can truly say I am Placentia to the core! Born at Placentia-Linda Hospital, I have lived in Placentia my whole life. I attended Brookhaven Elementary, Tuffree Middle, and graduated from El Dorado High School (Go Hawks!). I currently attend nearby California State University Fullerton, where I study Political Science and Philosophy.
As a life-long member of the Placentia community, I am keenly aware of how recent events have affected our city, our small businesses, our schools, our places of worship, and our youth. Despite the setbacks of the past, I see a path towards growth and a brighter future ahead of us!
How does voting for Colson Teal help us make Placentia better?
Colson Supports our Emergency Services--FIRE AND POLICE:
I promise to properly support our Placentia Police and Fire Departments. Our current council has failed to provide Placentia’s emergency services with the equipment and resources to best serve our community. I will push for funding to go where it belongs; towards modern equipment, proper facilities, and higher salaries for our first responders. Our first responders are the backbone of our community and yet they receive some of the lowest pay and benefits in Orange County. It should not be like this.
Colson Will Bring Back FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY to City Council:
Placentia City Council needs to be more fiscally responsible. A lack of fresh perspective has led to expensive pet projects while basic city government responsibilities such as repaving roads have been left unfilled. I will make sure city hall cuts back on unnecessary spending while redirecting our money back where it belongs; fixing Placentia’s lacking public infrastructure.
Colson Supports our PYLUSD District, Schools, and Teachers:
First, we have fantastic schools! My mother was a High School science teacher, and we moved to Placentia because of the success and high scholastic record of our public education. We need to stay focused on uplifting our local schools and teachers so that they can continue to do a great job educating our youth.
Better Schools means Higher Property Values:
Many of Placentia’s homeowners have children who attend our PYLUSD schools. Data shows that homes located in sought after school districts have higher property values, attracting parents who are willing to pay more for homes near good schools for their children, just as my parents did. Support for our schools will keep homeowners property values high, benefiting residents and Placentia as a whole.
Colson Supports our LOCAL BUSINESSES:
When I grew up, things were very different around the city, and small businesses were hurting. Recent city efforts have helped turn this around, and now things are looking brighter. But they can be even better! Small businesses grow prosperity for everyone. I am familiar with the local businesses in my home district, and throughout all of Placentia. It is my hope, and my goal, to have Placentia’s small businesses shine as an example to other cities about what active support from the community and city government can accomplish.
With Your VOTE FOR COLSON TEAL, We Will Get Things Moving Again in Placentia Toward Our Bright Future:
We don’t need new taxes; we need new vision, we need new energy, we need an invigorated and approachable Placentia City Council who understands what our community, and our youth want.
To make all of this possible, I humbly ask for your vote this November 5th.
